The Suitesixteen is a project conceived and executed by Rob Nesbitt: a singer/songwriter known for his work in bands like the iconic pop punk pioneers, BUM and the scalding, revolutionary Hardcore band, AK47.
His first solo record entitled, “Mine Would Be The Sun”, is a 15-years-in-the-making colossus that manages to encompass the high-level pop songwriting prevalent in BUM as well as the sheer ferocity of AK47.

A confessional and highly personal work, the record presents 16 songs that chronologically tell the story of an adolescent completely formed by a pop culture he’d internalized and taken literally.
A near-forensic examination of first love and identity that employs music of subtly blended multiple genres and a sonic density meant to transport the listener to a time when ones life was nothing but pure potential.

“Mine Would Be The Sun” is an ultra-deluxe, 2-record set that is presented in a one-of-a-kind, hand-assembled, triple gatefold sleeve which includes a full-color 52 page book that tells the story which ties the songs on record together and includes photographs taken at various locations that featured therein.

Though most instruments were played by Nesbitt, the album contains performances from members of The New Pornographers, Destroyer and Tegan And Sara.
The sound of The Suitesixteen has been described as a combination of BUM (of course!), Cheap Trick, Big Star and Green Day. The recording of this album, the creation of the visual components: every aspect of its execution is a mirror of obsession. Infatuation reduced to intellectual explanation. The examination of which reveals the indescribable nature–and depth–of emotion itself.
